Resize an Image to the Right Dimensions
Resize an image by entering pixel dimensions or a percentage. Lock the aspect ratio to keep the photo in proportion: a 1200×800px image becomes 600×400px at 50%. Check the live preview when changing the size or scaling method. Resizing changes the number of pixels; it does not crop away the edges or recover detail that was absent from the original.
- Input
- 1200×800px image
- Setting
- Scale to 50% · keep aspect ratio
- Output
- 600×400px image
Half the width and height means one quarter of the pixels. The file size does not necessarily fall by the same proportion.
